Re: Alias originals not found

Hi,

A couple of weeks ago, I took all of the folders that I saved to desktop and combined them to one folder on my IMac and kept it on my desktop for quick access. Now, when I try to open any of these folders, I get the error message that it could not be opened because it can't find the original. I don't know how to correct this and there is some important information I need on here. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like, instead of moving the files and folders into a new folder, that you simply created aliases of those files and folders, and put those aliases into that new folder.

Then, you probably deleted the "original" files, thinking you had moved them into the new folder, yes?

If so, they're gone. Unless they're in your Trash and you haven't emptied the trash yet.

Can you explain exactly how you "moved" those files and folders into the new folder? Drag-and-drop? Copy-paste?
