re-installing my osx

i run and imac with both osx and windows on it...after a lightning storm i could no longer get into the osx side just my windows...i was wondering if i re-install my osx, will it delete all the pictures and videos i have on that side?

If you install using the option "Archive & Install", you'll save all your files & folders. However, if the lightning strike fried something--you're on your own--anybody's guess if it'll work.

If you experienced a lightening strike, then it is likely that you need a new motherboard. Get your system to a reputable Mac shop and have a qualified technician examine it.
