Re-installing specific Applications

Having difficulties with both Sherlock (3.5.1) and Disk Copy (10.2.2).
Sherlock starts to search the web then comes up blank in a few seconds.
Disk Copy locks up at "Configuring burn... " stage.
All has been working fine for the last year.
Attempted fixes so far have not helped. Is it possible to re-install just those Applications, without disturbing everything else? If so, in simple language for an old duffer, what would the step by step procedure be?

Running OS10.2.2 on 800MHz Power PC G4 with built in CD-RW/DVD-R drive.
Darwin Kernel Version 6.2

I love Macs, the ONLY way to go! winguy.
 
What have your attempted fixes been so far?

Disk Uitlity, fsck, DiskWarrior, dumping preferences, etc ?

If you've done these things, you might want to consider using the 10.2.6 combo updater before doing anything else.
