Well, that method is not recommended for Audio CDs. It's okay for data backup but shouldn't really be used for music.
I recommend you use iTunes (which is a free download at APPLE) . It lets you create playlists and you can burn them effortlessly. You can even choose to make it a mp3 or regular audio CD etc.
Since your CD burner supports Finder burning, it should also support iTunes.
