Read me please, odd problem with x.1.2 and apps

Just the facts: I REALLY need this to be fixed, I have a deadline. =(

Entourage won't allow me to reply, or create a new message. Reason:
Error -8805

looked everywhere, can't find what that is.

Sherlock won't start: unexpected quit

the save dialog boxes are missing the middle. sounds strange, but there is no navigation, or place to type in a location.

I ran fsck, I ran norton, I ran disk doctor, I reinstalled the 10.1.2 combo update. no help.

when starting up, and shutting down, there are lags between 8-15 sec more than normal.

Only thing I installed was a .nat program called geeforce or something like that, and about 30mb of fonts.

Any ideas?

I'm waiting to learn from the best. =)

BUT, the fonts are installed at the system level.

should they be installed at the user level? I'm guessing yes, so that I could just replace the evil fonts with the happy fonts.

But at this point, I don't know what preferences or fonts to execute.

I'm afraid to erase all of the prefs, that something won't run after rebooting.

(I was planning on attempting to become a MacSCE through Press3, but maybe I need more experience in fonts. *grin*)

I grabbed my sisters Ibook, fought filesharing until it worked, and copied the font folder from that x.1.2.

Switched to 9.2.2 and replaced the whole folder of fonts with the ibook fonts.

rebooted, and everything is fine.

I should have been smarter than that....just dumping fonts into the folder, is there a way of checking for bad fonts?
