Reading PDF

Hello,

We would like to be able to programmatically read the contents (only the text) of a PDF file using a Mac OS X application. Does anyone know of any libraries that will allow us to do this?

The Adobe libraries are out of the question because they are too expensive for us, not that we wouldn't mind paying a reasonable amount for a license.

Have you looked at the Quartz API.

It as calls for accessing PDF files.
