RealNetwork video help

i downloaded a file and planning to load it up..... until i look at the file extension, behold the imfamous RealNetwork file format, .rmvb and .ram. I know this company is imfamous for changing their file format throughout the year.

I been trying to find the correct media player for RealNetwork format. I thought VLC have those but found out they not planning a support for it in the future which bum me out.

i know RealNetwork RealPlayer only support Window.

Anyone know any media player that can really play RealNetwork format?

oh didnt see that there, i must be overlooking things.


that one thing i was hoping to avoid to use Real programs.



is there any other media player for this? Real programs is my last resort

MPlayer can play some RealMedia files (older ones, I think), but I don't think there are any programs besides RealPlayer than can play rmvb files or even some rm/ram files.

FWIW, I think the Mac version of RealPlayer is a bit better than its counterpart on Windows. I still like to avoid it, too, but it's usable.
