welcome to europe/austria !!

i got a mac os X.3.2 error, it tells me to reboot by pressing the power button 5 seconds.

it occurs sometimes, i don´t know why, there is nothing special when this error occurs. sometimes it happens, that it occurs on reboot, in most cases immediately after the "ip firewall" startup. sometimes i have to reboot 4 times, because this error occurs immediately after booting. well. even sometimes it occurs 2 hours after booting... doesn´t make fun to use mac os x right now...

is this the implied bsd-kernel-panic screen ?

if so, how can i find out what the problem with my system ?

yours, michael

that is the kernel panic screen.

once you are logged in, go to Applications / Utilities folder. Open 'Disk Utility', in that choose your hard drive and run 'repair permissions'.
it could help as you say you get the panics often after ip starting.. (if it finds a lot to fix, run it again untill it comes out clear. and run that utility at least once a month for prevention).

have you added anything such as new (non-apple) RAM etc? those could cause it as well.

welcome on board :)

Before you repair permissions, I would suggest booting from the OS X install CD and opening Disk Utility from the menubar, then repairing the hard drive ("Repair Volume", I believe)... then, once it fixes any problems, boot normally then repair permissions.

Permissions problems usually don't lead to a kernel panic -- damaged structures, etc. on the hard drive or faulty RAM usually produce a kernel panic.
