Recover Deleted Photos on Mac?

Help please! I'm new here and I hope you guys can help me.

Just wanting to check with you guys how are you able to retrieve lost and deleted files, specifically photos, from your Mac computer? Deleted some important pictures while trying to make an album this quarantine. Can you suggest an effective program you can personally recommend? I badly need them back. Found this page while scouring online and it seemed good because the tutorial is detailed and feedbacks are okay. Interface seems easy to use too but I have yet to try though.

Any inputs are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Hope everyone is well and safe. :)
 
What OS are you using, and have you ever backed up to an external HD or other media? Your answers make a difference on choices to try.
In the meantime, do not save anything or download as it will overwrite possible recovery of your pics.
