Recovering Contacts From Entourage After a Crash

Hi there,

My computer died recently, and though it was backed up, i'm having a hard time recovering the data (address book, calendar, and old mail) from Entourage. I've found my data folders >Documents>Microsoft User Data> blah blah blah... but i'm not sure how to install them so that my new (and upgraded) Entourage has all of the information i need. Any ideas? (i tried just dragging the files from my old drive into the Entourage/ Microsoft User subfolders, but they are not auto-uploading.)

Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

I'm presuming you've upgraded from Office X or 2001 to Office 2004,

In Entourage go to 'Import' from the 'File' menu, select 'Import Infomation from a Program', Select Entourage X or 2001, select the data to import and navigate to your recovered Microsoft Data Folder, select the identity and import.

If you just want to import from the same version of Entourage, drop the recovered Identity folder into your Microsoft User Data/Identities folder, if the old Identity has the same name as your existing one i.e Mian Identity then rename it.

Post more info if this doesn't work for you.
