recovering keychain access password

Hi. I am not have any problems with the computer, except that we cannot remember the keychain access password. We couldn't remember the user password and were able to reset this by re-booting with the disc and holding down the "c" key. This said it also reset the keychain password to same but in order to unlock the keychain access we have to type in the keychain access password (the old one) and this is what we are not able to remember.
Is it possible to recover the keychain access password or reset it without having to type in the old password (which we can't)?
