Reformat iMac (Snow)

I have now transferred all of my old data form our iMac G3 (Snow), but want to restore to a clean install of OS X10.1... It currently has both OS9 and OSX versions on it, as I'm not sure how that effects it.

I have the OSX 10.1 CD, but how do I do a "clean" wipe of the hard drive before I sell it on eBay?

I went to disk tools, but can not format from there... Also tried ot boot from OSX CD, but same issue...

Any ideas?

When you boot from the CD, go through the process up to the point where you select the destination disk. Then click the "Options" botton on the bottom toward the left and choose "Erase and Install"

Will this erase both disk images? both the version 9 & OSX hard drive images? I'll start the process right now...

If your OS 9 & OS X are on different partitions, then you'll have the option of selecting the partition you want to install the new OS to. This will destroy all info on that partition, but leave your other partition alone.
