Reinstall app like iDVD

I just tried to start my iDVD app but it says
"You cannot open the application "iDVD" because it may be damaged or incomplete.

Can I reinstall just iDVD like a Windows app?
If I have recently downloaded frequent updates on OSX, then will I not be backdating my iDVD install?
I tried using the CD but it wants to install all the apps that are bundled with OSX.

I thought that if you use the Software Restore option on the disc (haven't tried it in a long while) you can pick and choose which apps you want. Or, you should be able to click a "Customize" button on install to pick and choose as well. Barring that, if you know your way around Macs pretty well, you can download Pacifist (free) It's a .pkg extractor so you can extract only what you want to install.
 
Yep you can reinstall by putting your osx disk 1 in that came with your system, scroll down to find the install packages icon and then you can reinstall just that application. Cannot quite remember where the installa packages icon is but is definately there.
