Howdy everyone. I am running a 300mhz blue and white g3 and currently running osx 10.3.5 jaguar. I have a 40 gig hard disk and a 12x10x30 cd-rw when i put the new hard disk in i did a straight install of osx. I would like to run some of my old os9 software but im unable to install it. I put the cd in like im supposed to and hold down the c button while booting it up and it shows the "Now loading os 9.2" screen then a blank white box similar to the box you get when the computer crashes appear with no text or buttons in it... just a blank box. and the computer just sits there. Any ideas on trying to install os 9.2.2?? I tried booting up in os x and copying the system folder from the os 9.2.2 cd-rom directly to the hard disk, however that did not work. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

However, copying the System Folder from the installer CD won't work - not because of the 'blessing', but because it can't work. That System Folder has components (such as the Finder file) that can only boot a CD.
I think you have replaced the original CD drive (the '12x10x30 cd-rw' that you mention). Some third party optical drives may not boot to an OS 9 installer CD. If you still have the old drive - you should try reinstalling that one.
Also, make sure that nothing is connected, other than your keyboard, mouse, and display, and remove all additional PCI cards, if any. I have seen the OS 9 install get really flaky with any unusual hardware that you might have.

Dragging the 'System Folder' from the installation disk provides only a sub-set of the typical installation. And correct - the dragged 'System Folder' cannot be blessed.
