Reinstalling Photoshop CS2

I recently uploaded an Apple update, following which I had to perform an archival reinstall on my imac to correct a system crash.

As a result some of my applications have gone a little wonky, and I have been spending lots of time getting kinks ironed out. At this time, I'm working on getting my Photoshop CS2 to run smoothly again.

An information box provided the recommendation that I reinstall the Photoshop application because certain important files have gone missing. I wonder if you can advise me as to how to perform this reinstallation smoothly, hopefully without the danger of loosing my original Photoshop settings.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

If you did and archive and install and didn't upgrade everything after to the same version, there are likely to be some problems.
The easiest way to handle the reinstall of Photoshop is to use the installer it came with. That should replace everything that isn't contained in the application container itself to its correct locations.
