remote networking?

I'm not much of an online gamer but my brother and I both downloaded a game that we'd like to play head-to-head from our houses. One of the options when setting up a game is to join another game on your network. Is it possible for my brother and I to be networked together using one of our machines as a "server" so that we can play this game together? I have no clue how to do that. Is it possible? Do we need certain software? He's running 10.4.x, I'm running 10.3.x.

Thanks,
Joe

The game should have all the required software to do networked gaming already. All you need to do is actually "network" the computers in one way or another. The simplest route is to simply connect an ethernet cable between the two machines (if the machines are new enough to support auto-switching of the ethernet ports from crossover to twisted) and you're ready to go.

What machines do you have? What game is it? Perhaps with a little elaboration on the setup we can give you specific instructions on how to set it all up.
