Removable Drive Ownership Problem

I'm running a MAC on 10.4 and I did a "get Info" on my external lacie drive and tried to change the ownership and access to just me but it kept on going onto "system". Now the drive will not show up after starting up, I have checked the drive in Disk Utility (the only place it is showing up) and run first aid and it indicates it is ok? it also says "owners enabled : 0" at the bottom. how do I access my disk or promt it to ask me for my password? any feedback will be brilliant! thanks.
 
Mine was doing that so I backed everything up and re-formatted it in disk utility which did the trick. I then dragged everything back into it and its fine now. I used the DOS format option after all the others failed to make any difference.
