Removing test drive version office 2004

G'day all, I am about to install Office for mac 2004 and the user manual says I have to remove the test drive version, How is this accomplished?
Any useful help appreciated

There should be an uninstaller within the folder for the test drive version of Office. Run that app and it will remove the test drive version.

if not, then just drop the Test Drive folder into the trash and empty it.

Remove Office isn't working for me.

It fails at this stage: "In the Results window, click Microsoft Office 2004 (including Test Drive) and then click Continue to move that folder to the Trash. Follow the instructions on the screen."

I can't do this because the Results window is empty. I suspect this may be because on our new MacBooks the folder is called "Office 2004 for Mac Test Drive," and the application is looking for the old name.

I'll try removing the folder manually, and assume that it'll all work out.

There may also be some preference files left over and such, this guide explains how to delete them.

If this symptom occurs for Office 2004 Test Drive (results page is blank),
1) Open one of the Office applications. (e.g. Word)
2) Close the application
3) Run "Remove Office Test Drive" again.

Opening an application triggers something that the uninstaller needs to realize that Office 2004 is installed.

A colleague believes that dragging an unopened Test Drive folder to the trash does the same thing. He may be right.
