Does anybody know how to remove the .Mac screensaver in 10.2?
I can't find it on the HD and I really dislike it in my random list...

Ps does anybody know a better random screen saver - one where you can choose what to randomise with?

TIA,

Adam Q Salter

Are you sure you checked all the screen saver folders?
/System/Library/ScreenSavers/
/Library/ScreenSavers/
~/Library/ScreenSavers/
It should be in one of them...

I just looked in all the screen saver locations and it isn't there. that is very strange. I wonder where it is at?

I just searched all hard drives for anything ending in .saver and came up with nothing about .mac

Are screensaver modules named anything else other than .saver?

I've been wracking my brain over this for several hours. Then something dawned on me. The name of the saver.

It's in /System/Library/Screen Savers, but…
it's called .Mac.slideSaver. (intentional emphasis on the .Mac part)

It's invisible since the name starts with a dot!!

Just go into the Terminal and cd /System/Library/Screen Savers and do an ls -al. See it now?

So a simple rm -rf /System/Library/"Screen Savers"/.Mac.slideSaver should do the trick for ya.

no wonder I didn't find it .SLIDEsaver
I wish I would have known that before
I knew I wasn't missing it because of it being hidden. I was using snax with hidden files shown.

Nice call about being .mac though!

Yep that it!...
I too did a full search of the HD... obviously the .filename filename was being ignored...

SOOO how about the second question... ? Is there a better randomise screensaver? ;)
