Renaming photo files and resizing

I import pictures from my digital at least once a week and every time I do it creates a roll folder in Finder. In my head I am thinking that by the end of the year I am going to have too many rolls than I know what to do with. If anyone knows a better way to consolidate these folders please let me know.

I understand that when I import I import the files into iphoto and into the finder. I don't understand, however, that when I renanme the photos in iphoto they don't rename the actual file in finder. I post photos to myspace and when I look thru Finder they aren't renanmed. I have tried to create a workflow to solve the problem but it renames the file in Finder, so that number is never the same as in iphoto and it creates a mix up and doesn't let me edit in iphoto. Please help!
I also need help resizing photos. What is the easiesiest way to resize a photo?

One should never mess with the iPhoto Library in Finder. You risk losing photos, etc. One should ALWAYS do whatever editing, naming, etc. from within iPhoto. The Finder organizes things the way it does so that from iPhoto you can access your photos. If you want to export to myspace or the like, you are best to export from within iPhoto to, for instance, a folder on your desktop and then to wherever you want them to go. Just forget that the library is in Finder, and do everything from iPhoto. Trust me, messed with Finder, not pretty results!
