ok, I have a MB pro (still learning the OS) but here is the problem. 1st setup was working with an external 24' monitor via single HDMI. I would close lid (now I know it's called clamshell mode)
hit the external keyboard and work at the office in this manner. Unplug, go home lift the lid and work on the local display.
I now have a 2nd 24' monitor and a matrox duel dp and all is hooked up. The def resolution on the monitors is 1900x1050, so once plugged in, detect showed the 3800x1050 so I selected that and closed the lid. The monitors came up with an error saying the settings were 2 high, so I opened the lid, screen came on, I said detect and picked the 2nd highest (3200x1050), the screens lit and the res still looks good. So now I have the laptop open and the 2 24's working. When I close the lid, all goes black, I hit a key to wake it up and I get the too high settings error, so how it seems to me (a non Mac expert yet) there are profiles or such.
1.When it's local it says do this.
2.When open and 2 externals selected run them at 3200x1050 (and works great)
3.When closed and 2 externals run them at 3800x1050.
Since when looking at profile 3, I can't get to displays to 'reset', so where are these config's stored file wise that I can either remove and re-setup or simply change the settings via command line?
Thanks for reading and any help.
