i was trying to get my canon ip1800 printer to work with usb connection to emac os x 10.4.11 . printer worked fine before & works fine now with another mac.(macbook)
i tried everything.the obvious:
deleted job
unplugged and changed usb ports
repaired disk permissions
reinstalled driver many many many times
then reset PRAM on advice I got
after this, the display only shows the letters AAAAAA where there should be filenames. this occurs in all finder applications. system settings i can read the words. web browser font fine. just finder.
tried then to re install os 10.4.11 from apple website but it said my hard disk was not up to scratch-didnt say why
so again repaired disk permissions
i think it's dying
please help
i need this computer for all the applications-photoshop and final cut pro for work
