Yes. It will remove any saved personal infromation like passwords and cookies, and it will empty the cache and history.

ok now does that mean if i have email addys i will lose them also?......
and resetting it.......is that a good idea?.. is there any other way to delete things i looked up on google or yahoo?.......thanks for your help cleo

Resetting Safari won't delete your e-mail accounts you created in those web services, just the saved username and password for logging into the e-mail service (so that you don't have to keep typing it everytime you access that service). In other words, you would have to manually provide the username and password again in order to access your e-mail accounts.

Resetting isn't as bad as you seem to think it is, provided you remember that passwords for everything you access while on the Internet (e-mail accounts, forum login accounts, etc.). However, if you don't remember what the password is for a particular service, then it could be a little more difficult. Thankfully, most services like web email and forums have the option to send the username and password to an alternate account that's given when registering for said service. That option is usually something like "I forgot my password" with a link to a place where you can provide the alternate e-mail address you gave when you registered with that particular service and if it matches, then you'll receive the username and password for your account in that alternate e-mail address.

If you still don't want to reset, you can just go in manually in the preferences for Safari and clear out the history and the cache.

ive done the history and cache i just want to be able to clear the hings from like google ok if i look up cnn on google it stays there i cant delete it from google. and everything else i type in stays and thats what im trying to do delete things.. im sure i sound confusing.......im sorry...... but thanks for any help. cleo

go to the search window in the upper right of safari click on the arrow. the list of recent searches will drop down. the last option is something along the lines of "remove searches".

ok im a new puter person so....... im not sure where the search window is....
im sorry........but thanks for all your help.............. cleo

The search window is the little white box to the right of the longer box that has the web address of the web page. On that little window, there should be a little arrow that's on there that when clicked will drop down a list of searches, and on the bottom there should be the "remove searches" selection (or something of that nature) that lbj was talking about.

ok now i feel stupid........ok im at the safari page and im at the window........
as im looking at it...... it says...search the web,,,,, then a long white box
then to the right is another small whit box that says.....search but i dont see any arrows??......what am i doing wrong? thank you for being patient with me.......cleo
