resetting Modem ppp

I was just told by a woman from ATT/SBC Dialup that Only AppleCare could talk me through clearing the ppp settings on my modem so that the computer would connect.

I, of course do not have and apple care account, and am sure this is simple...like trashing prefs files out of library.

any ideas?
 
Assuming you have already set up an account with ATT/SBC, you should already have a user name and password. Setting up the modem for dialup can then be easily done in the System Preferences/Internet preferences.
