restoring preview

I have accidently trashed preview. How can I get it back without re-installing the whole OS X. (jaguar, B & W)

Also the system has been sluggish lately and generally cranky. In 9 I would rebuild the desktop and zap the Pram and throw out preferences and such, but I have no idea what, if anything, needs to be done for X.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could use (if you still have the install disk) Pacifist to re-install just Preview.

In OS X corrupted Preferences can also affect programs. There is also something Apple forgot to do, Repair Preferences. I forgot where Jaguar did this but in Panther, Repairing Preferences is handled by Disk Utility.
