Retrieve Quicken data from emptied TRASH

I have a mac mini OS X and recently I emptied my TRASH and realized I had some Quicken files in there I need in order to access my Quicken files for the past year. I downloaded Stellar Phoenix which has a feature to retrieve files from a deleted TRASH can, yet none of the Quicken files were a part of those retrieved files. Do you know of any solutions for retrieving Quicken files from a mac in this instance? I have looked on Google to see if there are any answers and have not found any that relate to retrieving Quicken files for the mac, only a software that says it will do this for a PC. (My skills are not the best when accessing this kind of info.)

I am not in a position to spend much $$ on software for this, yet am interested in knowing what options I have.

Thank you,
Linda

First, let's set some expectations: there is no guarantee that you will be able to recover any of the data. That's the nature of emptying the trash -- even the recovery tools aren't 100% infallible.

Second, stop using the computer immediately. The longer you use the computer, the greater the chance that the data you wish to recover will be overwritten with new data, making recovery impossible.

Third, try Data Rescue II: http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php

On a side note, the easiest and least painful way to recover those files would be to simply restore them from the backups that you religiously keep. In the slim chance that you're one of the people that does not keep backups, shame on you, and start keeping backups immediately. Sympathy levels for your situation are directly proportionate to the number of backups you keep.
