revealing passwords hidden by asterisks

I know there's programs out there to reveal the characters hidden by asterisks in password fields for Windows, but is there for Mac?

I have a few passwords of which aren't stored on the Keychain thing, so if it would be possible to reveal passwords in any field on the computer, that'd work.
 
If the passwords *are* stored on the keychain, then you can use /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access to view the passwords. You'll need to know your main account password.

On the other hand, if the passwords are *not* stored on the keychain then its not so simple. If that's the case, then it will be stored, encrypted, in a browser cookie which you will not be able to get at.
