Revert Vendor Supported Disc Drive

I have a Ti Powerbook 800 mhz. It came with a combo drive, but then 2 years ago I decided to buy a superdrive (Matsushita UJ-815A) and install it myself. This of course brought problems with about every OS X release. Supposedly Tiger supports it natively now though. HOWEVER...I didn't notice they added a separate info bar for disc burning in system profiler so when I went to look at my DVD drive it showed basically nothing so I assumed I would need a patch. So, I tried the Jaguar patch I had gotten from MCE-tech, but when I tested it out my drive didn't work. It won't even read CDs or DVDs now, and of course won't write them either. I tried using Patchburn, but that still didn't do anything. I want to revert back to the original Tiger settings, but I can't use my DVD to install it! I haven't been able to locate anyone with an external DVD-rom either.

Somehow it is stuck on thinking to do vendor support instead of native. I have a windows machine with a dvd-rom, but I am not sure what files I would need or how to install it in some other way. Any help would be appreciated!
