Applications folder used to be in the dock. Now it's not there anymore. How do I get it back in the dock?
 
Double-click your hard drive, then drag the Applications folder to the dock, and drop it there, near the trash-end of the dock. That process will create a new Dock icon for your Applications folder.

You can also ignore the missing icon, and open any finder window, then click on the Applications icon in the side bar. You can also get to the Applications folder through the finder Go menu, or simply press Shift-Command-A, and the Applications folder will appear.
