Router connections

Does anyone know if there's a way of viewing all the machines connected to my wireless router and possibly making a log of them?

It depends on what kind of router you have. Your basic Linksys router will show you a list of connected mac addresses via the web interface (192.168.1.1 usually), as is the story for most.

I found this post at macosxhints for various ways to check if you're using an Airport Base Station.

My best advice is to secure your network with a good password and mac address filtering.

The only way to do it is to check the log on the router... unless you have a pretty highend firewall that can email the logs to an account.

I'm using a Linksys WRT54GS with WEP security and a 10 digit hexadecimal password.

Nevermind I checked the 'DHCP client list' in the status menu and it shows everyone who is connected.

Thanks for the help.

Yup..log in to your router.

Click on the ADministration entry at the top. Click on LOG beneath that.
there there are two options - incoming and outgoing log. Of course, you probably need to enable it first.
