I just recently installed Roxio's Toast 7 and thought it might be helpful (as a benchmark) to let you all know how long it took me to burn a Music DVD.
First off, I'd like to say the end result is beautiful. Before I go further, here are my system specs:
iMac 17" G4 flatscreen runnng @ 800mhz with 512mb RAM running OSX Tiger 10.4.3
Burner is original Superdrive that came with the computer.
OK, back to my Music DVD. Toast says you can make a 50-hour music dvd. I did one filled with Christmas music worth 37+ hours.
It took 27 hours to produce the DVD!
I'm sure it's the Dolby Digital encoding but it was only 2.8gb of info (or so).
Any comments from anybody? I'm sure this only burned at 1X.
I have Toast on another computer with a dual layer burner but haven't been able to burn anything on that.
Anyway, thought I'd throw the music dvd encoding time out there in case anyone's planning to do something as large as I did.
