safari, aim, msn, mac updates not workin

A couple months ago, I was trying to install the new version of Flash. After having some trouble with that, I went on a site that told me the best way to do that was to just reinstall the current version of Flash I had. Fast forward an hour, Flash is deleted, new Flash still wont install and now Safari, Mac Update, MSN Messenger, and AIM dont work. Is this all connected? How do I get Flash back if it wont install? Thanks
 
For the benefit of a quick answer:

If your trying to install Macromedia Flash and using an intel Mac with Tiger i believe you need to run Safari under Rosetta. To do this click 'Get Info' on safari, check the'Rosetta' box, and then run safari and go to the flash update site. (http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/). After you have updated your Flash you can then go back and run Safari without Rosetta.

Im probably very wrong but nobody has answered yet so theres a slight chance this may help.
