Safari Bookmarks: Open in Tabs

devil's plaything
I use my Safari Bookmarks Bar to hold folders, which when selected reveal the option to Open in Tabs. This will create a new tab for each bookmark in that folder but will also close all the tabs currently displayed. Is this supposed to happen and if so, why? Is there any way to use Open in Tabs without closing all the tabs already open?

Couldn't find any mention of this issue when searching the forums... ::sleepy::

ThanX for any insights.

That's the way it works. Open a new window, then open the folder and Open in Tabs.

Thanks Bob, glad to know there's nothing wrong with my install. :)

Still, having to switch back and forth between windows kinda diminishes the ease of using tabs. :(

Put all the sites into one folder, that you would have in those two windows.

Well I have already arranged my bookmarks as logically as possible, keeping them both manageable in size and grouped by use. Still I might want to open any different combination of folders at any time.

Oh well, its not the end of the world or anything if I have to open a new window.

ThanX again.

It's weird, but if you open a group in tabs and then close it, it will go back to the old tabs. This has caused me much relief in the past.
