safari bookmarks

hi again,

something fairly recent been happening within safari....everytime i tried to edit a bookmark in any way either to delete it or to place it in another folder, safari crashes...any idea as to whats going on ?

Hi Wajid,
do you have any programs or other extensions that are for Safari, like Safari Stand, or Sogudi etc? Those could be interfering with it.
Also, can you remember since when you get this error?
 
no extensions that im aware of...it started a couple of months ago and ive just been living with it but it's getting annoying not to be able to edit my bookmarks in any way now....what else can i look for ?
 
Have you tried to reset Safari? (Safari > Reset Safari)
Or tested anything else ... ?

You could try in Safari ... File > Export Bookmarks > export to e.g. desktop.
Then quit safari, go to [home folder] / Library / Safari and remove Bookmarks.plist file, take that for example to your Desktop.
Then restart safari .. it should start without your bookmarks - in which case you could try to select File > Import Bookmarks, and select the one you had created earlier.
That could work if it's something in the bookmarks file being corrupted.
