Safari bug invokes Resources window

Safari bug invokes Resources window on launch and for every new browser window invoked. New Tab is ok, but new window causes the Resources folder of the Safari.app package to be brought to the foreground along with Finder.

This maddening problem has gone on every since I moved to the G5 it is on.
I have gone through deleted every file that contains the string safari.
Used Pacifist to install the original package that will not launch.
Used Pacifist to install the beta since it's package would not launch.

There has got to be some extra file that is causing Safari to act this way.

Wiping my drive is out of the question and doesn't really figure out the root of the problem.

The only history possible is I had a dev version or hack to a 2.xx or 1.9x so it could lie as to user agent and maybe some other stuff it did. I may have brought over something with that but that is using my imagination.

Under the Safari Menu, choose "Reset Safari", or:

Quit Safari, and then locate the following files and move them to your desktop (or some other out-of-the-way location):

/Users/your username/Library/Safari/(move everything out of this folder, but you can leave your bookmarks file there, it's not hurting anything)
/Users/your username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

Then relaunch Safari and see if it's fixed.

Did you delete the ~/Library/Preferences?
