Safari doesn't work

Hi Guys!

Does anybody have a cure for my irritating problem with safari and update-program. They don't work at all! All I got is a error that says that there is a problem with network. Firefox works normally and so does mail.

I got 12'' PBG4 1,5GHz and 512 DDR2 SDRAM.
Running OSX10.4.8

Have you got any proxies configured? Try unchecking them all in the Network System Preferences pane shown here (click on thumbnail for full-size pic):

Well I had, but unchecking the, didnt help.. Any other ideas?

What specifically is happening? Is the Apple Software Update not updating safari??
