Safari errors :(

I have a few problems with safari. one is that the browser crashes when i press the red X in the left hand corner. the other problem is that .GIF animations stop after looping a few times eg frykes s.mod logo stops after a while, this also accours with marqueeing text (scrolling text)
Does anybody else have this problem?
Do you know how to solve it?

Quit Safari, then do a search for com.apple.safari.plist and move it to the trash. Restart Safari. In most cases, that'll take care of it.

If the above doesn't work, you're best to do a full reset of Safari. Once it is open, select Reset Safari from under the Safari menu.
