Safari no longer displaying new RSS

So I have a folder of RSS feeds in my Bookmarks bar. It used to have a number pop up next to it when one of the links inside had a new entry. It no longer does this, and I don't recall when the behavior changed. I surely didn't change any settings in Safari, but maybe a software update or something? If you click on a feed that has a new entry it does realize that there's a new one because in the top right it says X new, Y total.

Anyone else? Any thoughts?

This happens to me too.
This works for me usually!

Close Safari
Use Onyx (or other similar app) to clear Safari's caches
Restart mac
Rss should be back to normal.

Occasionally I have had to do this twice before it'll work.
