Safari not auto-entering ".com"

Until recently, I've been able to enter just the name of a website in the address field of Safari. For example, if I wanted to go to www.apple.com, I used to be able to type in "apple" and hit return; and Safari would enter "www." and ".com" and quickly go the website.

I'm not sure what happened, but now Safari won't do this. Did a setting get changed? Please help.

I think that this is not actually handled by Safari, but rather by your DNS server.

You might want to try using OpenDNS instead of your current DNS server.

You could always try choosing "Reset Safari" from the Safari menu, which MIGHT help, but Mikuro is probably closer to the actual problem.
