safari not rememburing urls?

Ever since switching to 10.3, safari doesn't like to remember urls that I manually type in the url bar. It will remember them for a day or two, and then it will no longer finish the url for me. I can't seem to find a way to extend this memory (cache?).

I am assuming this would be an extrememly simple thing. I just can't seem to find it. Anyone help?

I thought it was in Safari preferences. .. but can't find it there, nor in system preferences...

Tinker Tool ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11967 - freeware) gives these options for Safari (maybe these can be enough for you) :
