safari pages slow to load

Hi- flat panel Imac- 10.4.7 but in prior versions as well- I have noticed that many web pages start to load- then stop- I get the beach ball but as soon as I hit the stop button and then refresh, it loads instantaneously. In essence, I have to click, stop and click reload for way too many sites. Any thoughts- its tolerable but frustrating..

I have had that experience as well. Not sure, if this is a real solution, I empty the cache occasionally, or even reset Safari, repair my permissions, and do a restart.
