Safari problems

My Web browser, Safari, runs fast to some Web sites, doesn't connect with others and slowly (about 2 to 3 minutes per page) connects to others. My Internet provider insists the problem is not with them. The Block Pop Windows is off and no proxies are checked. Could someone please help me? Thank you very much.

Hi,
I reviewed the links and came up with a solution that seems to fit the problem, but am having difficulty applying the method. Here's what is suggested:

These steps cover both the DNS and port priority aspects:
1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
2. Choose Network from the View menu.
3. From the Show menu, choose the network interface you use to physically connect to the Internet.
4. Click the TCP/IP tab.
5. Type your DNS address in the Domain Name Servers field. If you have more than one, press Return at the end of each to put the next address on a new line.
6. Choose Active Network Ports from the Show menu. See Note 2.
7. If the interface you chose in Step 3 is not at the top of the list, drag it to the top.
8. Click Apply Now.

I can do steps 1 and 2. and here's what I can see:

System preferences >Network > It reads:
Location: Roaming
Show: Network Status
Built-in Ethernet is highlighted and it reads as follows: Built-in Ethernet is currently active and has the IP address 220.47.224.50. You are connected to the Internet via Built-in Ethernet.

The other things read: Airport is turned on but is not connected to a network.
Internal modem is not set up.

I can change Show: from Network Status to Built-in Ethernet. Since it states that I am using the Built-in Ethernet, I think that's where I should be. Is that right? Also, it already as a DNS entry. I've added another one, but to no avail. Would I add the numbers suggested in the previous message and be okay? Could someone please tell me how to move forward from here? Thank you.
