Safari quits on start up

I have a problem with Safari which I am unable to resolve. When I downloaded it yesterday, it ran without a problem. I quit it and tried to restart after about an hour. It quit everytime on startup without opening up. I trashed the application, redownloaded it and tried to run it again. Same difference. It now refuses to launch and I cannot use it. Any suggestions?

Delete Safari's preference files from ~/Library/Preferences and /Library/Preferences (You will have to work out which files belong to Safari). If these have been corrupted then they could cause the app to fail to start.

Thanks. Got the answer on another forum yesterday (prefs/mac.com.safari.plist). Now works fine.:p
