safari top sites

Help! I was weeding out my top sites on the safari dashboard, and I must have done SOMETHING, because instead of 12 boxes of top sites, I now have only 6! Can someone help me? I have tried everything that I can think of, short of resetting Safari. I would like them back!!! thanks.
 
Open a page of Top Sites, click the edit button in the lower left, then click medium in the lower right, then click done in the lower left.
 
Thanks for your reply, Whitehill, but my problem is actually NOT the size of the boxes, rather the fact that INSTEAD of 12 boxes (small, medium or large), I now have ONLY 6 boxes AVAILABLE to me to store my "top picks".
Has anyone ever seen this problem? I know that there must be something to do, but have no idea.
 
When I click the "Small/Medium/Large" buttons in the lower-right corner, the NUMBER of top site boxes available changes.

You should also be able to click in any blank space where there's not a box to add a box there.
