Safari v78 (non public release)

Androo

Yeah, Androo.
Before i start talking about the non public release, i will tell you that you are not allowed to ask for or post the link for safari 78.
Here are the new features:
When I start it up it says Safari Gold. That either means its the final version (1.0), or you have to pay for it (like realplayer gold). It says that it is Beta 3, so i suppose v80 will be public version 3.
It is more crash protected, as many of you say that your safari crashes often. It is better with CSS stuff and security and things. The only way to get new safari is to wait for public version 3 to come out.
yay

If it's the same one I tried out a few days ago (which it sounds like) it's a fake.

And after a little research, you can see that it's a very poor hack of v73

The one I tryed long time ago was a fake. I compared content data, the only differences with the public v74 are version tags and the .nib's application menu name and about box.

I can't believe that so many people are spending their time making such b.....t. Androo, I'm not talking about you but about the people who are making the fakes! I think you would be LOL if I showed you all those similar things I'm receiving on my rumors mail everyday ;).

The most funny of that Safari GM story is that some Mac sites mentioned it as coming from "accurate sources" ;). I think the real GM will not have any "Gold" mention on its application menu.

The ones circulating are AFAIK fakes. Every internal copy now is traceable, so if anything leaks to public, some guys will not see the next version before it's out for public, and never do anything trustworth again with apple.

Yeah, that whole starting up and saying "Safari Gold!" does not in any way sound very Apple-ish. They know better ;)

Also, I'd like to add that this tracing number (I think it was called NIP or something like this) is also on those fake Safari builds and has probably been added to make them credible.

When Apple really wants to trace its internal builds, they don't do it with a so explicit way. It's so simple to modify a NIB file and clean this number out. So, as you guess, when there is tracing stuff on Apple software builds, it's not on the about box you have to look at.

I'd suggest you to look there, you'll find interesting feature details about real Safari builds.

"how can i it be a hack when it got all these new features? must be a good hacker!"

> Or a fine Photoshop geek.

It's nice that builds are out or even leaked, but I like (and don't mind in the least) finished builds of the software. Personally, v74 is doing just fine, no problems whatsoever. :D
