hi i have just bought a secound hand imac and have tryed to open some of the programmes that are on it but are having difficulty.. safari and some other programmes have a question mark on them in the dock and wont open. what do i need to do plz help!

Just click on the smily Finder Face on the left corner of the Dock. A Finder will open and you should be able to get to programs on the OS X system. For the programs in the dock with question marks you need to do two things. First remember what that program is for that has a question mark. Net navigate to the /Applications/ folder and drag the that programs icon back to the Dock. To remove /Applications/ from the Dock just drag the icon above the dock and let it go into a poof of smoke (No the program is NOT gone from the Mac).

Please beg, borrow the book (you can find this book in most any book store or computer store) Mac OS X Leopard: The Missing Manual. You should find you way with this book.
