since i installed tiger safari has had a really hard time finding and loading websites. i thought it was my router (netgear), since i had upgraded its firmware at the tame time i added tiger, but now even running directly to my dsl modem safari gives me either a "'contacting' or 'connecting to' www.whateverwebsite.com" for up to a couple minutes before either finding the site, not locating the server, or even saying im not connected to the internet.

ive tested the line speed and checked with my isp, and no problems there.
ran all scripts and permissions repair, etc (with and without cocktail).

any suggestions? i feel like im using dial-up...

Shutdown the Mac.
Unplug modem from power and leave unplugged for 1-2 minutes. Do the same with router.
Wait until the modem and router start back up and turn on the Mac. This always seems to help me. I have a cable modem.
