Saving a Quicktime Audio File?

I attempted to save a quicktime audio file to my computer. The file is from a website, and when you click on the audio link, it opens a new page with the quicktime player. I went to "save as" and saved it. Everything looked like it saved correctly - it showed up as an MP3 file when I saved it both to Itunes and an external drive.

However, the time of the file shows up as 0:00 (!).

Is there something I'm missing, or is the website somehow encoded to not allow listeners to save the music?
 
Yes. You go to the website, you click on a link to the file, and a new window opens which plays the quicktime file. Supposedly, you can save these by going to "save as," and it saves as an mp3. It's not working on my Mac though. Thoughts?
 
Generally speaking, as I've discovered since my initial post. This happens on my Mac at home but not at work with windows. On Windows, I can right click "save target as" and it saves fine. Supposedly, the Mac equivalent of this is going to File>Save As from the toolbar at the top, but this has not worked when I try this.
 
Right click or Control click on the file for a sub menu to download.
 
yep. If you play it through a browser it doesn't technically download to your computer as it could be a streaming quicktime file, stored on a server.
