Saving web sites on local hard disk

 Does anybody know how to save an entire web site on local hard disk in a way that Internet Explorer 5.1 recognize as "local"? If I use the "save as" and the relevant option what I get is a series of files which still points to the original http://... address!
I'm really getting mad!

Did you save it as a Web archive? If not you should and click options then check download links and I usually go 5 levels.

This is exactly what I did (I also used the same options) and the result is a file (or a sery of files) all pointing to http://...whatever So, if I use that file and click on any internal link... I'm send again into the net!. A correct "local" file should point to the local host!

you could use webdevil... I think there're others that does the same thing, but I've never tried those.

I can't help you with the IE... never tried saving websites with it

Edited:
I recommended webdevil because I have used it before. And the links will point to local files

iCab has a huge set of features for downloading - get all files on the same server, all linked files, include/exclude images, sounds, applets, max depth to follow links...
