HP's Settings in the Image Zone program will run fine while I am logged in as root. When I log in as any other user, the setting program locks. It will not even force quit.

Any clues as how to cure this action?

Both COL10842a.dmg and COL10842b.dmg have been installed. The uninstall was run to remove the older version before installing new version.

My guess is that the files that you installed belong to root. Why are you running your computer under the root account?

I don't run under the root account.
It was an experiment to see if the HP software would crash under the root account.
Owner is my normal account and Access is read & write.
The crash seems to be linked to account settings, but I do not see any odd settings.
